Fatigue behaviour and design of corroded reinforced concrete beams intervened by ICCP-SS

To improve the fatigue resistance of degraded reinforced concrete (RC) beams, present study employs a dual-functional intervention, impressed current cathodic protection and structural strengthening (ICCP-SS). This paper presents results an experimental analytical performance corroded simply supported beams with ICCP-SS intervention. The programme comprises 16 RC subjected to accelerated corrosion ICCP followed by four-point bending tests. test show that steel reinforcements in cathodically protected is effectively prevented. More importantly, intervention significantly enhances flexural members. In comparison those without any additional measures, lives treated are improved, as much 202%. fail due fracture reinforcement combination slippage rupture carbon fibre meshes. An amount ductility observed at point failure addition, compared predictions European Japanese design codes well Chinese codes.
